Two Masters in Three Days (0 comments)
Saturday saw the ushering of a new master into the air hockey world, as Joe Cain came down from California to Houston, Texas and defeated veteran Phil Arnold in five sets. Two days after he attained the #10 national ranking, though, Joe failed to stop Travis Luscombe from snatching that ranking back from him, vaulting Travis to #10 and bumping Joe down one spot to #11.

Brian Accrocco defended #9 earlier in the weekend against Joe, winning in straight sets at Kicks Indoor Soccer. Joe avenged the loss, as well as previous difficulties against Phil Arnold, by winning on Saturday four sets to one at Players' Court Bingo Hall. Joe couldn't carry that success into his matchup against Travis, though, and after the four-set loss on Monday heads back to California at #11, three spots better than where he started.
