About NASC
Who We Are: As the non-profit 501(c)3 trade association for the sport tourism industry in the United States, the NASC is the most essential resource for sports commissions, sports destinations, vendors, and sports event owners. We believe sport tourism and the events that our members own and host have the power to transform society for the better. Our passion is to help sport tourism professionals achieve previously unimaginable levels of performance. We do this by nurturing a community of smart, creative, and interesting people: our members.
Our organizational members are sports commissions, destination marketing organizations (DMOs), parks and recreation departments, chambers of commerce, national governing bodies (NGBs), multi-sport organizations (MSOs), and vendors to the sport tourism industry. More than 2,500 individuals from more than 700 member organizations lead, manage, and execute sports events of all shapes and sizes - from bowling tournaments to the Super Bowl and U-12 girls soccer tournaments to the Women's World Cup. Together, they create opportunities for athletes young and old to participate in the sports they love and lead healthy, active lifestyles., the National Association of Sports Commissions (NASC) is the most trusted resource for sports commissions, destination marketing organizations (DMOs), vendors, and sports event owners. The NASC is committed to the success of more than 750 member organizations and 2,400 serious-minded, sport tourism professionals.
Since being established in 1992, our promise has been to deliver quality education, ample networking opportunities and exceptional event management and marketing know-how to our members - sports destinations, sports event owners, and vendors to the industry - and to protect the integrity of the sport tourism industry.
Mission & Objectives
The NASC provides an outlet for communication between sports commissions, destination marketing organizations, event rights holders and vendors to the sport tourism industry. This increases access to sports event information, awareness of issues within the industry, advancement of sporting events and value of organizations in their own community and the industry.
