United Airhockey Promotions, LLC in affiliation with AirhockeyWorld.com, ProTableSports.com, and Grafix Emporium is proud to announce the 2012 UNAP Airhockey World Championships.
Dates: Thursday, July 26 - Sunday July 29
Location: SRO Family Sports Bar and Cafe; 444 Northwest Mall, (Hwy 290 @ 610 Loop) Houston, TX 77092 USA
Events: Youth Championships, Open Doubles, Open Singles are definite. The Youth event will have 3 divisions. Other events may be added.
# Tables: 12-16 Total tables including 10 Pro Style Valley-Dynamo
Seeding: if it is in accordance with the recently passed USAA ruling, the tournament will be seeded using the Mitic Rating system
Format: Open Singles, Open Doubles, and Youth Events will be standard double elimination tournaments. Format of spinoffs is currently under review and will be posted shortly.
Rules: The tournament will be run in accordance with the Rules and Procedures as set by the United States Airhockey Association.
Registration: Online registration will be available on AirhockeyWorld.com as of March 15, 2012. Player may also register in person or by mail.
In the tradition as the past three years, a team of very talented individuals will work together to bring you yet another hard core high quality, well attended and well run series of airhockey events. Each of the past 3 years, we have exceeded 100 competitors in the open singles including a magnificent setting 2009 event that saw a record 116 competitors in Open Singles and record 201 total event competitors. We have had superb media coverage all three years, and this year we have the benefit of two super talented marketing geniuses in Andrew Flanagan and Jamie Montross.
Valley-Dynamo has generously offered yet again to sponsor the event with 10 of their superb Pro Style Tables that provide the high quality environment that we have all come to enjoy. We are in the final stages of determining the pricing model, event timing and layout as well as approaching potential sponsors to grow our cash pool for advertisement and prizes. Full details for the event will be posted as soon as we have them finalized in the coming days.
