2010 Amateur Air Hockey Faceoff - every Friday! (0 comments)

The Texas Air-Hockey Group (TAG) is excited about their latest promotion! In coordination with SRO Sports Bar & Cafe and the Houston Press, TAG will spend the next 10 weeks looking for the best amateur Air Hockey players in Houston!

Every Friday at 8pm at SRO Sports Bar & Cafe, TAG will host a FREE amateur-only Air Hockey tournament to be held alongside our regular weekly events. The Amateur Face Off will be a non-handicapped, single game, double elimination, random draw tournament. The prize pool, provided by TAG, will be based on the attendance numbers. A miminium of 4 amateur players will be required for a $50 winner-take-all prize. A minimum of 10 players will be required for a $100 winner-take-all prize. The last amateur event will be held on June 11th, 2010.

Amateur player status is ultimately determined by a TAG member and is limited to new and existing players with a skill level rating of 1 or below. TAG reserves the right to exclude any existing or former players with a determinable skill level greater than that of an amateur. That means if you played in Air Hockey tournaments back in '88 at Greens in Memorial City... we probably know who you are ;)

All qualified players are welcome to enter as many Amateur Face Off weekly events as they like beginning May 7 and ending July 16 -- the eve of the 2010 Zwack Air Hockey World Championships at SRO Sports Bar & Cafe.

Weekly grand prizes will be limited to 2 per player.

The Amateur Face Off is a free event for all qualified players. Players will be required to provide quarters to cover the cost of 1/2 of their games.

So bring all your friends and their friends and their friends... who doesn't like to play Air Hockey??

Let's Play Puck!!
