Barcelona Tournament draws 19 players (0 comments)
On October 2nd, the second Special Tournament of the season was held in Barcelona, Spain. Winning the non-handicapped open tournament was José Luis Camacho, putting even more distance between him and his followers in the Catalunya ranks. Double points were at stake, and rounds played the best of three games.
The most remarkable facts from these tournament:
- José Luis Camacho won the tournament, continues his winning streak, puts even more distance with his followers in the ranks, and keeps the #1 with authority.
- Rubén Martín was the biggest upset of the evening, getting the third place. He managed to knock out many strong opponents.
- Mauro Sturlese got the second place after a long way all over the losers bracket.
- Ricardo Pérez was sixth, and was the only player able to win a game to Camacho.
- Joan García, Cristina Ruiz, Javi Navarro and Marc García did not have a good evening and their results were below expected.
- Albert González made his first appearence in an AHC tournament, he was the only newcomer of the tournament.
- Low top mallets were used for the first time in official competition. Joan García and Albert Parrón were the first at using them.
