#2 Ehab Shoukry made a giant step towards his quest of being the sport's top player, Saturday at the Houston Tournament of Champions for 2002.
Shoukry had a solid performance taking down master Brian Accrocco. After losing to World Champ Danny Hynes in 2 in the winner's bracket finals, Shoukry gave a gutsy performance in a last point victory over former 3-time World champ, Jose Mora.
Hynes increased his streak to 3 in a row as he took the first game of the finals and trailed only 7 points from a TOC victory. Shoukry then dug deep down and won the next 2 games to win the first match and then defeated Hynes in 2 in the second match to capture his 3rd TOC victory in the past 6 years.
With less than 2 months until the World Championships in Las Vegas, this may be the boost Shoukry needed to rise to the top.
