Not that there seem to be too many from the Long Island/NYC area on these boards...but I figured we should at least have a presence.
We are having our third meet-up tonight - Monday, Feb. 27, 2012 - at 8 p.m. at Hub Billiards, 4060 Austin Blvd., Island Park, NY.

Our fourth meet-up will be next Monday - June 4th - at Hub Billiards, 4060 Austin Blvd., Island Park, NY - 8 p.m.-ish.
Thanks to my match with Theon and gaining a (provisional?) ranking - we will start to play some challenge matches against each other.
We're no longer at Ground Zero here on Long Island......maybe we're at Ground One?

Hi Justin,
As we discussed over e-mail, unfortunately, the Long Island group has become rather inactive as we haven't met up in about a year now & one of our core members just moved out to Arizona.
Too much going on with me personally has prevented me from really taking the reigns like I would have liked.
Hopefully you find a match while you're up here.
And - best of luck with a possible move. With potentially both you & Michael Rosen living up here - I'd be extremely excited to think about the potential for a real air hockey scene up here with two of the country's great players.

I'm moving to Phoenix in a few weeks. Do you have contact info for that player?

He's in Tucson. He's a level 0 player...so if you did ever meet up, it would be more of a lesson than any sort of real challenge.

Hey man....what is the pub? I'm in West Babylon currently.
The Long Island thing I was trying to put together didn't pan out so great. We found a billiards hall in Island Park that was supportive and had tables (although not tables that are sanctioned by USAA)....but I just could never drum up interest beyond some close friends. Truth is, with all the other things going in my life, I probably just wasn't the right person to try to cultivate a real competitive AH scene.
I know that Justin Flores is going to try to start up some real East Coast action, which is great. If you're on Facebook, search for East Coast Air Hockey.
What kind of tourneys does your friend's pub run? When are they? It's just great to hear that any type of place around is doing some tourneys.

Great to here that AH is moving again back East!
Make it happened guys.
Air Hockey is a great sport, and if you build it, people will come to the Table.

I sense something; a presence I've not felt since...
