The 2012 Illinois State Air Hockey Championship is scheduled for Saturday, April 14th at 11:30AM. The tournament will conclude Saturday evening.
Last year, the Illinois State featured players from 6 states: Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Colorado and Texas. We had 28 total players, 4 World Champions, and 5 of the top 25 players in the world. This year's Illinois State will be an excellent warm up for the 2 national-level events that are happening soon.
Location:
Brunswick Zone - banquet room
1515 Aurora Avenue
Naperville, IL 60540
Tournament registration will be available on site from 10:30am - 11:30am the day of the tournament.
Entry Fees:
$50 Master
$40 pro
$25 Expert
$15 Amateur
$10 Novice/Beginner/First time participant in USAA event
All entry fees will be paid out to the top 5 finishers:
1st: 40% - $500 guaranteed
2nd: 25%
3rd: 20%
4th: 10%
5th: 5%
The tournament format will be double elimination. Tournament matches will be 4-of-7 games. Early round matches may be 3-of-5 games; dependent upon turnout.
Free pizza and drinks for all participants.

These tourneys are always great!
Hopefully we can get some players interested in making the trip. I know some Houston players mentioned visiting Chicago some time ago... this would be a great weekend for it.
I'd be happy to play a challenge match before or after the tourney as well... I'm sure everyone else would, too.

Cool. It's a one day event. People can visit Chicago (which is beautiful this time of year) on Sunday and not miss work on Monday.

| Like Dan, I'd be up for sets and/or a match over the weekend as well. Looking forward to another great IL state! Was the IL state back in 2009 that got me hooked to air hockey.

Don't book airline tickets yet. The tourney is being rescheduled at slightly later date in an effort to allow traveling players more time to make arrangements. We are aiming for April 21 - May 13.
We'll announce the dates within the next few days.

Oh ok let me know, right now in my music schedule, both dates work. I'll try and book some music up in chitown whilst I'm there are well to offset the cost of the tournament.

Wow! I will setting an exhibit at The SMART Jewelry Show April 21 - 23, 2012 @ Chicago's Navy Pier. I hope it works out for 4/21!

I thought April 28 had been decided. I can't do the 14th. I could do the 21st or 28th of April. Or 12th of May but not 5th.
