I win set 2 4 games to 1.

I win set 3 4 games to 3 to advance to the finals.

Due to being being behind schedule, Mike and Colin have agreed to play a single game 3/4 spinoff.

Congrats to Danny on dominating the league! He only lost one set all summer and that was today against a much-improved Mike Cummings.

Good stuff from Brian and Houston, as always.

Congrats to Danny for his dominating performance as usual and to Colin for raising his game during the league. I was really trying to adjust my defense in the second set of that finals, but Danny's offense was too much. I have always bragged about Danny' defense, but it was truly his offense this time that carried him to dominate me. I have improved my offense as well and had my defenses been stronger, I may have had a shot. But Danny is hungry again, and his game shows it. He is ready to go for title #11.

I want to thank the following folks:

Diane Accrocco, Marc Sandlin, Danny Hynes, Syed Rahman, Peter Cheung, Mike and Colin Cummings, Mark Waheed, Pete Lippincott, Jeorgia Rodriguez, Justin Flores, Andrew Flanagan, Tory Evans, and Steven Accrocco. These folks showed up consistently and truly supported the league in both attendance and in tasks. We had 13 players who dropped out during the league and we had several more who qualified for the playoffs but didn't attend. I'd be lying if I say this didn't disappoint me. We have a problem with commitment and punctuality in this sport, and, until that gets corrected, we will struggle. I love all of the Houston players like brothers, but many of you let the sport down. The group above met and exceeded my expectations, and I thank them. Especially Marc Sandlin. He never ever lets me down. Whenever we have setup or breakdown, he is always there. Whenever I need help, he is there. Always! Marc is THE most dependable person in my life in regards to air-hockey. I also want to thank my wife who saw me invest a ridiculous amount of time in this league this summer instead of into my family and household as I should have. And she never complained. And she should have. Diane is an exceptional lady, and it is because of her that I continue to stay motivated to better myself and provide a better life for my family. I love you Diane. You are truly my better half.

I now turn my focus on grad school. Pete Lippincott and Jeorgia Rodriguez are taking over running weeklies for the time being, and Tory Evans is working on trying to get a venue for a world championships. Houston is down, but it will rise again!

See you all in Chicago in October.

What a magnificent performance by Danny in winning this event. A resurgence of a Mighty Force in our sport!

Congrats too, Brian, for taking second while running the event. You made a strong statement of your ability and focus.

And my respects, too, to Colin for knocking off some fine players en route to taking Third Place. What improvement within six months!

See you on the Table,

Phil
