"Now with this tournament this wknd, there is no scheduled payouts now, although Brian first stated that the top 4 would receive them."
When was it 'stated' that the Top 4 would receive a cash payout? We've been talking about this tournament for a month or 2 and I've never seen mention of cash payout for the Houston Open? Brian has been forthcoming to all of the Houston players and airhockey community in writing, but your accusation is pretty strong like you have evidence otherwise?
"Whatever ways the entry fee and sponsorship money is being used, whether its advertising, trophies, it being pocketed, etc., its a suggestion of mine to look at this one topic and give thought to altering it, and making things more appealing."
As for the pocketing money comment::: how much are you talking about here? You forget the time, energy and commitment put into running a world event. This team Volunteered our time for the sake of the game and the air hockey community, climbing in the rafters at SRO, hanging lights, moving tables, printing sheets, setting up cameras and doing all kinds of cool things that cost a lot of personal money and your accusing people of pocketing money??? Nobody made money and I know Brian has lost more money in these ventures than he has gained.

Excellent! Cracking the top 16 will now be even more difficult.
Thanks for all of the work that goes into putting on an event like this. I'm about to lounge at the pool and enjoy this ridiculously nice weather.

Mike, first off , looking back at Brians posting 4th posting on the Houston Airhockey tournament, he put a top 4 payout for the TOC which was mixed in with talk on this saturdays tournament, so my fault on that confusion.
Secondly, if money is being pocketed and hoarded, and i suggested it may (try not to magify my suggestion too much Mike) it's not a crime, I'd just call it bad business. If it's not being pocketed, then i'd say you may not be using it right, based on your number of players, sponsors, etc. So it's more a business for you guys. You are hoping to make money off it, Brian has a business license for it, and LLC., right? Hoping you guys would be more open to constructive criticsm and comments from your players/customers. After seeing especially Accrocco's sarcastic response, and the often added guilt trip that it's all done for the players, and you guys get virtually nothing out of it, just forget getting any feedback. You were venting your frustration with the lacking of participants this tournament, thought you may want some feedback. Why bother. And also Brian farasyour T12 tournament (11 years ago), incase you don't remember, you left it up to the day of the tournament in deciding if you were going to give out any payouts. Leading up to it, you were indecisive exactly of how many, if any you were going to have. As well, there was so much talk that year about a 2002 nationals not happening, that people thought the T12 would be the only major. People wanted to attend for this reason too. Andyeah, i think it's pretty odd that with that many people, (77 players), all entry fees and coin money (we had to pay for all games then), and probable sponsorship from then 'Shooters' that there was nothing to be paid out to anyone at that great big successful tournament you choose to bring up.
