Congrats Billy. I think I am missing Air Hockey, I swear if I found a good job in Chicago I would move back there.

I sure hope so :) I think most people are traveling back today so they will probably be entered later this if I were to guess.

Q and I are confirming some of these singles results. We don't have an official list from Michael yet, just going based off of notes we took.

This list is significantly shorter than the 62 players we were told participated. I'm interested to know, of these 52 players who now hold official USAA rankings, how many actually participated in and completed the first round of the main draw?

Every major tournament ever played has had its share of registrants who, for one reason or another, don't end up playing. Why so much "interest" in the details of this particular event, Andrew?

Hey Andrew. Your earlier post implied you heard it was 61 players, and now 62. Regardless...to answer your question directly, the list of names I had typed earlier in this thread was the direct list in seed order from the tournament chart. I think there are 59 names in that list but someone can check my count. Somewhere around 20 of them did not have a rating (novice/1st time participants...again check my count in my previous post). Out of those then, I believe that Travis did not include any who did not play in the first round of the main draw in the list of the results.
The confirmation that Travis was speaking of has to do with the 32-48 and 49-64 place spinoffs. There were some players who I believe played in the main draw that for whatever reason skipped their spinoff completely based on my notes and a conversation with Travis, therefore should be at the bottom of their bracket.

Get off my jock Joe. As a former officer and current board member of the USAA, don't you have a desire to see promoters communicate accurate information about their events? I'm just asking for official attendance numbers and results. What's the problem with that? Can I not ask ANYTHING without you assuming there is some negative motivation? All the public has gotten to date is a bunch of guesses and assumptions from other players. No official data. You should want that info to be publicized.

The 52 players that are listed all have recorded match scores in the main draw. It is an unofficial list based on the notes I have - I will ask Rosen to post an official tournament finish list, and then hopefully that will shed some light on things.

It will be good to have as the airhockey community continues to measure the rating system approach. We're looking for information.

After looking at Q's initial seed list and comparing it to the final results, my rough calculations show that for the 37 players that were not novice/new players, the rating system produced a result that that had an average finish variation of +/- 3.14. That seems pretty good to me.

Well, if you can't imagine why I would be suspicious of your motivation in this regard, then I guess you haven't been paying attention to your own posts for the last couple of months. But sure, fine - I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you are just curious on this one. I guess you'll just have to wait until Michael posts the official results, then.

The full list of results is here: http://airhockeyworld.com/tourneyresults.asp?tourneypk=245
There were an additional seven players that signed up but did not play any matches in the tournament, and as such do not get credit for the event or a USAA ranking.
