Phil and Mike have rescheduled the challenge match to be Thursday night with an expected starting time at 6:30pm at SRO. If you are in the area, come on by. Considering the regular Thursday night practice at SRO, we're hoping some of you can step up and referee. Mike

It's with great respect that I thank Phil for giving me the opportunity to play the challenge match this evening. There were roughly 12 other air hockey players at SRO warming up for the International Tournament next month while Phil and I battled out on Table 1. Thanks to all of you that refereed the match. My shoulder muscles and neck muscles are exhausted from playing defense against Phil's many different attacks and precise shots. One thing I learned regarding the difference between a Professional and a Master: A Master makes every shot count. Brian, Keith, Syed, Danny all made the same comment to me at some point during the night, 'you have to make every shot count or Phil (ie Master's) will exploit that weakness and make you pay. Early on in the match Phil made me pay a lot because I made weak decisions.
Phil, thanks again for being such a true champion and giving me the opportunity to battle it out with you.

The fact that you were able to get this out of that match is worth the price of admission.

Thank you,Mike, for the comments, and most of all, for the intense, but chivalrous, match last Thursday. I knew that I had to go into the battle fully focused, serious, and without the ah frills that we players from the 70's enjoy. I knew that because your game demands it now. In set three you pushed back hard by eliminating mistakes and working a good game plan. The last three sets saw the game count get much closer at 11 to 8. So, you made necessary adjustments and fought for control.
Your game is on the verge of making a major leap forward.
Phil
