Nick played excellent ah tonight at the Houston Weekly, finishing second. He lost in a close match with Anthony Marino in the finals. Nick was in the winners of the winners side, so lost two very close sets at the end. Nick's defense and offense have improved since the 2010 World last July.
If his endurance holds up, it would not be suprising to see Nick do quite well this weekend.

The first match of Nick's adventure is over. Nick was the highest caliber player I've played a challenge match against in my 20 months of competitive play. For me to steal one set from him was a good accomplishment. Even a blind squirrel finds a nut every once in a while.
The match was a lot of fun for me and I learned a few things I need to continue to work on. As I got tired, my overs became unders which was not good. I believe I only scored 3 rwu on Nick the entire match. I need to work on my stamini and lose some weight if I want to get better. Ok, where's my beer.
Thanks Nick for playing and good luck in your matches against August, Donovan and Syed (if his back feels better)
Mike
