Just wondering if there are even any discussions going on at the moment for tournaments this year?

I had sopoken with Michael Rosen earlier in the year, and he was working on something in the late May / early June time frame for Las Vegas. I have not heard anything else about it from him.

Andrew has decided to focus on his successful growing business, and Travis and me both felt that last year's event took too much, and we were planning to take this year off. However, Jason Stevens called Travis, Phil and me a few weeks back and convinced us to work towards another Houston event this year. We are currently engaging in due diligence to determine if we have the necessary resources for a Houston event. Jason feels very positive that we can make something happen. We will let you know as soon as we know something. And if Michael Rosen does have something solidified, perhaps he will let eveyrbody know sooner than later.

Thanks,

Brian Accrocco

After speaking with Mike Rosen, it appears Major League Air Hockey, Valley-Dynamo, and 3 other game table leagues are developing a "multi-event Nationals tournament for June 2,3,4 at Bally's Las Vegas." As seen by the dates, this would be a thur-sat tournament unlike the fri-sun tournaments in the past. This is an informal announcement however a preliminary announcement is expected in the near future.

Thanks,

Phil

I think it just means that multiple National Tournaments will be going on at the same time. I guess we'll find out.

my refundable flight is booked for Vegas Baby, Vegas! I reserved my room at Bally's, if you don't know the special code, it's $124/avg night. If you are a member of the 8-Ball Pool tourney (wink, wink), then it's $89/avg night.

hopefully others will arrive on Wednesday so we can properly prepare for the world championship

i would advise to work on both your 8-ball game and your AH game, just in case... Less than 90 days to go. Who's all in?

Hey all ~ Given informal communication that I've had since December with Jason, and also with Brian, Niz, Chris, Phil, and Davis & the all the forums buzz, I'm putting out this brief early announcement.

Yes, Major League Air Hockey is producing
The 2011 Air Hockey World Championships and bringing it back to Las Vegas!!
It will be held (likely early starts) on Thursday, June 2nd - Friday, June 3rd, and Saturday, June 4th at Bally's Casino Resort. As Davis mentioned, there is a hotel room deal that has been negotiated to include all Air Hockey community travelers.

This tournament series at Bally's is multi-faceted one in that it is also sponsored by all of the leading promotional bodies of Foosball, Shuffleboard, VNEA billiards, and Air Hockey. Sanctioned equipment will be provided by Valley Dynamo. In addition to our main events, there will be major tournaments in each sport on site and cross-promotional events involving players of the all other sports. The reason for the one day rotation back to Thursday is to work in conjunction with their schedules.

If there are players who would possibly be available for early promotional activities from May 26-June 3, please email me privately.

I will put out a more detailed announcement as the sponsorships develop further and the schedule of events is determined.

I'm looking forward to another amazing year of
Air Hockey ~ The World's Fastest Table Sport!!!

Assuming VD brings the 8 tables as usual, it is unlikely that singles could start and end on Saturday. With 16 tables and the 50-70 players, it could happen.

This is an MLA event and Michael will share the details later, but, being a promoter as well, I would assume that singles will begin sometime on Friday.

Thanks,

Brian Accrocco

When you say likely early starts what does that mean exactly? Will it be in the format of doubles thursday and singles friday and saturday? By Early do you mean Doubles will be in the afternoon or morning on Thursday? Or does it mean that playing will start for singles in the morning?

I am hoping to start making arrangements for this trip, so more information would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, more information would be greatly appreciated!!!!!
I am starting to get concerned if we will have enough players to get sanctioned for a World or not. Also, I already have my ticket but would like some more info on the entry fees.

Also more information would help people who are on the fence make their plans.

Take care.......
