Attention Houston players, I am thinking of planning a trip down to Houston around the weekend of March 18th to play some Air-Hockey. I would like to get in 3-4 matches if possible with at least 2 being players ranked higher than I am. After the last tournament, the Houston players ranked higher than me is not a small list:
Brian Accrocco
Anthony Marino
Danny Hynes
Ehab Shoukry
Tim Weissman
Evan Siegworth
August Parra
Albert Ortiz
Syed Rahman
Travis Luscombe
Andrew Flanagan
Phil Arnold
Vince Schappell
I know this is not the way make an official challenge, I am just trying to gauge the interest/availability of some of the people I would like to play. I also am aware that not everyone is active on the forums, so if you think one of these players would like to play but won't see this, please let them know. Also, if there is enough interest, I may stay longer into the early part of the following week.

I'm overwhelmed by the response. What's the matter? With Davis and Billy holding the top 2 spots are Houston players suddenly scared of outsiders coming in and taking away their rankings? No need to fear me, I'm not even in practice.

Just saw your post. I am obligated to get in some matches in Feb and March that my challengers allowed me to postpone due to some nagging health issues (minor.) But I will always remember how game you were to play me a match immedaitely after the Natonals in Colorado some ten years or so ago. If you need more matches than you accumulate by March, I will renegotiate with my challengers for a window to play you. So don't worry your taste for blood will be satiated.

a little more explanation
i will be in denver to visit friends and i had earlier planned on playing keith ,mark, or chris but now i just want to have fun and relax
so i will not be playing while i am up there
i get back on the 18th - friday and i already have plans on the 19th
so i can play on the 20th if you want
Donovan's house would be a perfect place to play at
Also i will let others know that you are interested in playing

Now this is more like the response I was hoping for! Thanks guys. I will get in touch individually to try to set up some matches. Also, it sounds like Chris Lee may have some interest in coming and playing some matches as well.

| The only reason I haven't posted is because my family may be on a spring break trip that weekend, so I didn't want to commit. I also am on the chopping block from August and Syed first. If you and Chris alreayd have opponents, then go for it. If I am in town, I'll come help officiate some of the matches.

Alright, my trip is confirmed. I will be flying into Houston the 18th of March and leaving the 21st. I'll play in the weekly on the 18th, August on the 19th and probably Syed on the 20th. Match times will be determined later. I am also willing to play one extra match each day with Mike and Donovan, although I haven't scheduled anything yet. I could probably also play one Monday morning before my flight if there is anyone interested. So lots of Air-Hockey to be played. Haven't heard word on whether or not Chris officially wants to come, but we'll hopefully get some practice in soon and I will talk to him about it then.

Great news. I can't wait till I start back being "Have mallet, will travel" again! You got some good action scheduled with the tourney and August and Syed with Mike and Donovan in da wings. Those first two are hot on the heels of Brian, reaching for Ehab and Danny one day. I look forward to some games and catching up on things.

Unfortunately Nick chose the only weekend my free flight doesn't work and the most expensive weekend for the entire month so I don't think I will be making it this trip. Thanks Nick, LOL.
