20 Games, Nizzi Wins 16-4 over Rosen; gains USAA #28 World Ranking NIZ. 16¦132¦6.60AvPPG MLR 4¦ 98¦4.90AvPPG [-1.70 AvPPG]
Last 2 Sets: NIZ. 8¦70 pts¦6.36AvPPG MLR 3¦64 pts¦5.82AvPPG [-0.54 AvPPG] ! My family was there to cheer me on, which made a HUGE difference!!
I started both matches very flat with no warm up and Niz picked me apart for 5 or the first 7 games.
The last 2 sets were true dog fights; with Niz winning ALL 6 of 6 [7-6] Games!!! That's a Champion.
I learned and adapted throughout the match. I was twice as productive in Set 3 as Set 1, and 3x more productive by Set 4. In that last set, I had 6-3, 6-4, 6-4, 6-4 leads in the first four games and couldn't hold three of them!! It was a Great Houdini Vegas act by Nizzi; who would calmly "C'mon Niz. ~ and execute. That set was pick-pocketed from me by some great slight-of-hand.
That's why he's the best challenge match player in the world.
* I got beat on at least 4 off-speeds from Niz during the match. I scored a blade shot and a Randy Lind special during the match ;-)

16g, Nizzi Wins 16-0 over Rosen; Retains USAA #28 World Ranking NIZ. 16¦112¦7.00 AvPPG MLR 0¦ 56¦ 3.50AvPPG [-3.50 AvPPG] Nowhere in the same league this match.
This one was a total domination by Nizzi. My family was not there to cheer me on, which made a HUGE difference!! It was contested very well in puck action, but not on the scoreboard for me. Congrats to Mark for showing what his #1 World Rating is made of!
All in all, this could be known a "The X-mas Massacre" between the two matches. We'll both write more in the coming days.

Do challenge match reports get any more detailed? :) Glad to have Rosen in charge of the details.
First set was me winning well in the beginning, but Rosen started catching fire at the end. I was fortunate to come back some games in that first match, otherwise it would have been Rosens set in the 4th.

Glad that you two players got to double up. Rosen, you gave a good shot against one of the two or three greatest players. Welcome back,Niz, to the world rankings. I have climbed the ladder once or twice in my day, and actually kinda like moving up step by step. Sorta of makes a statement.
So, don't leapfrog Carolina on your way over California:)
