Howdy Houstonians:
I have been tossing around the idea of running an air-hockey league much like the one we did many years back in the late 90's. Everybody plays everybody over the course of several weeks, and then we have a playoffs. The specific cost, format and rules would be based on participation.
One league we did was "play at will" style where players had an opponent each week they had to contact to play. Players could play ahead if they wanted and do several matches at once if they so chose. It worked pretty well.
The other format was a set night and scheduled matches and officiating. That was cool too, as we knew exactly when and who we played. And there was a reschedule protocol. It was less flexible, but everybody knew when we played.
I was thinking of kicking this off in mid to late January if we have enough interest. Anybody down with a league for 2011?
