Contact them direct by phone, email, or in person, and issue an official challenge. Be clear about the challenge being in effect, and not just a hope that you will play one some day. That makes it an official challenge. You will then learn if any one else in in line before you; if anyone else has "priority."

By following it up with an email or letter to the USAA secretary, President, Board, etc. you make it public and formal; so that if there is any claim later that you did not challenge on or by a certain date, there will be grounds for investigation by the USAA. You can post of this forum to make it official after you contact the person you want to challenge. Don't just post it here, and don't list several challenges all at once in one email. Make it up close and personal:)

That is my understanding.

I thought if multiple people challenge the same person the highest ranked gets the match. Is that not the case?

"4.3 At the end of the 15th day of each month, priority is given to the highest ranked (or challenge-ranked) challenger who has issued a challenge to a particular player during the previous challenge period."

What's preventing us from using AHW as the official way to issue (or at the very least keep a record of) challenges? Are there any players left out there that don't have access to the website that participate in challenge matches? This website has been pretty stable for years and isn't going anywhere (knock on wood). I make regular backups of the data, so data loss is very unlikely or would be minimal if something were to happen. The USAA officers have access to view the challenges on here, and it would be a nice centralized place to keep track of the outstanding challenges. Thoughts? What data would I need to store or what would I need to provide to make this happen? I think if it was adopted by the USAA and I provided a simple, uniform way to issue a challenge, it would make challenges a lot easier to manage.

I think this is a fine idea. Seems like half the challenges are done on here, anyway.
