N 7 4 6 7 5 3 32 C 5 7 7 6 7 7 39
N 7 7 7 7 28 C 5 3 6 2 16
N 7 7 2 7 4 7 34 C 6 1 7 4 7 6 31
Sets 4-1 Nick Games 18-8 Nick Points 159-133 Nick 7-6 games 6-1 Nick Avg. points Nick 6.11 Chris 5.11
Chris played better than a first glance at the scores would suggest. This is particularly true if you consider the 7-6 games. Also, it was the first time in a few matches he took a set off of me. He seems very dedicated, and I would not be at all surprised if he has a breakout performance in Houston. He is making good defensive adjustments, but needs to learn to make them a bit faster. I can easily see him doing that with a couple of more matches between now and Houston. Offensively he has all the shots and once he becomes a bit more savvy about when and how to use them, he will be dangerous. I could easily see him putting it together in time for the Zwack World Championships. I look forward to our next match.

Thanks Nick for playing another match with me. I hadn't realized that in all our matches the last time I took a set off you was in 2004! Nick really did a good job of staying one step ahead of me like he always does. It seems like by the time I realize what I need to do to stop him its usually too late. When I do make my adjustments, Nick quickly moves to another attack. Later on in the match, his accuracy was a little off however he still managed to play smart and take advantage of the opportunities I was giving him. I'm glad I was able to at least show progress since I have been trying to play ever day to prepare for Houston. Thanks Nick for your tips on what I need to work on in the next few weeks.

Great battle. Congrats to Nick for defending his World Ranking against an improving challenger.
I look forward toward seeing both of you strutting your stuff in the World Championship!
