I'll probably write up more of a recap later, but while visiting friends and family this weekend out east, I challenged James to a match for his USAA ranking. James successfully defended his ranking winning 4 sets to 1.

Thanks to James for one hell of a fun match. I learned a lot and overall it was a great time. Some match notes I have. James came back over a lot of initial leads in games, especially in game 1, set 1, where I got out to a 6-3 lead. While every game, every point is equally important, I think a pivotal win for James was game 3, set 4. We got to 6-6 and James hit a beautiful cross that I knew I was getting beat on once I saw it get hit. I was hoping to ride the momentum from set 3, but fell short in that set. If I had more time this weekend, I'd hopefully get a rematch in, but next time I'm out east, definitely.

Glad you all got to play a match for World Ranking. It is an ordeal where all your cunning and craft are demanded just to survive! James has much knowledge and experience; and that cross straight of his has impaled many opponents. You both are better today than you were before you played!

for someone who hasn't been playing competitively very long - going up against a vet and taking a number of games is very promising. well done, Q.
