Mark VS. Keith: In an upset that shocked the Air Hockey Universe to its foundations, Keith Fletcher (9th Nationally)somehow managed to fend off challenger Mark Jonjak (16th in Colorado) in only 20 games. Jonjak once again demonstrated that he has a problem winning serious games which get to 6-6, winning only one of nine such games. No one has come up with a good explaination for Jonjak's loss although one observer did point out that Jonjak had had a 42 pound tumor removed from his wrist earlier that morning, but Jonjak denied that the surgery had any effect on the games, once he was able to wrap enough bandages around the open wound (they stitched it up later in the day) to keep the blood off the table. Another astute observer noticed that Jonjak may not have been taking the match seriously, as he played most of the games suspended upside down from the ceiling by a piano wire wrapped around his right ankle, while tightly shutting his eyes and yelling, "Use the force Luke!". Being the gracious gentleman that he is, Jonjak maintained that he always plays best upside down, and steadfastly refused to make any flimsy excuses for his loss. In any case, Jonjak has challenged Fletcher again, and promises that he will not be so merciful next time.
