It is with great pleasure that we announce that the 2016 AHPA Air Hockey World Championship will officially take place July 29-31, 2016 in Colorado Springs, CO. This event will once again take place at the Chapel Hills Mall and will be in partnership with the Rocky Mountain State Games, the largest sports festival in Colorado. The weekend will consist of an amateur tournament as well as a professional doubles and singles event. More details will be released as they become available but the dates have been confirmed. A schedule of events can be found on the Rocky Mountain State Games website http://coloradospringssports.org/index.php/events/rocky-mountain-state-games/66-rmsg/336-air-hockey. Dynamo will once again be supporting this event by providing their high quality tables for us to compete on. Medals will be awarded for both amateur and professional events and cash prizes will be up for grabs for both professional events. All ages and experience levels are welcome for both events! Last years event received coverage from several news outlets locally as well as nationally and we even received some airtime on ESPN. Links to media coverage are below. Questions can be directed to the AHPA via email at admin@theahpa.com.

Excited to be able to offer a way for travelers to get all the way from Denver International Airport to within 3 miles of the event site without having to rent a car! Denver is set to begin service from DIA to downtown Denver via a new commuter light rail! From there, you can take the Bustang from Union station all the way to the Woodman Park and Ride in Colorado Springs which is 3 miles from the event site. The light rail is $9 each way and the Bustang is $12. Visit http://www.rtd-denver.com/a-line.shtml and http://www.ridebustang.com/ for more info. Contact us if you need any assistance with transportation!

Chris and Brian,

Good luck with your tournament. If I was going to be here in Colorado that weekend I'd decide to play (then I'd decide not too..then I would play...then I wouldn't...and then I would ;)). No really I would. And I apologize for the negativity over my questioning of last years banquet ceremony. I feel things relayed to me might have been misconstrued.
I hope you as promoters will try and unify with the rest of the Air hockey body. Its less complete when this sort of division exists.
Also, just for future reference, I don't think Colorado Springs will be the best place for a World Championship. Maybe if Colorado were more of a hot bed for the sport. However I hope this upcoming tournament can be a good one.
Obviously the great kid Dynamo ;), Colin Cummings is favored. So far from what I see Brian, Keith and Mike Cummings have the best shots to play him in the finals with Keith in my opinion having the best chance. I think Keith in great practice would have a near 50-50 chance of beating Colin but I don't think Keith has been getting great practice lately. We'll see.
Again I hope in the future Chris and Brian will use their promotional talents (and I do think they are promotionally talented :)), to unify the players in the sport as a whole and bring more great tournaments.

Thanks.

Mark, I have close to 0 chance of beating Colin. Last year I took Colin to 7 games in the USAA. That was because Colin decided to play fast and fun the first four games. He played like we practice and I was on the right side of a 3-1 games lead. If you watch games 5 through 7, he brought out his tournament game and destroyed me.

Colin won both Worlds last year and is playing better now than ever before. He's 6' tall, in outstanding shape and is doing things things no-one else can do on the table. I don't know anyone who has a 50-50 chance with him right now. I wish there was as he would love the challenge. Yes, I am talking very bold right now because I'm disappointed no-one, but Pete has challenged him this year.

You're probably right Mike, but the reason I say Keith maybe 50-50 is because of their last two matches two years ago. Keith lost 4-2 then beat Colin 4-0. That's why I say it. However Keith I'm sure was in better practice then.

I admire you being such a big fan and great father to your kids.

Is there going to be a stream? I couldn't make it due to a job change two weeks ago.
