It would be nice if there was an easy way to get updates without disturbing players. There should be more Facebooking...tweeting etc for these major tournaments. Updates...pics...etc.

Sorry, Dave - with so much activity there - watching matches, filming, reffing, etc. - it was nearly impossible to keep track of what was going on from moment to moment. I agree though that it might be a good idea to make it someone's job at the tournament to send out updates. I suppose one could argue that having timely updates is the privilege of those attending, but the real trick is making sure someone has all the knowledge and can broadcast it in a timely manner because things pile up fairly quickly in a busy environment like that.
Also, Colin won. ;) (and yes, he was over the line when I called it!) :p

Chris Lee defeated Joe Cain to knock him out of the main draw.

Yes, Colin was over line. Oh and he and Pedro played an awesome set of air hockey. The playing styles are polar opposites and yet the match was extremely tight. It was great for me and mine to get to know the Air Hockey legends in attendance.

Congratulations to Colin on becoming champion. Great job as well to his father and mother who did such a great job supporting and nurturing him.

Thanks Mark. He is very driven like all true champions. He is becoming his own man and is starting to make his own decisions. We look forward to seeing how this impacts his life in the future.

Congrats Colin for the win and rest of the players in attendance. Work today felt like a vacation from the constant excitement/stress of all of the very close matches. I'm spending a couple of days editing videos since I have to try and get 5GB done today in order to maximize use of the vimeo upload limits. Then it will be on to setting up the brackets and, with the help of Goran, getting the scores entered for the data to show up on AHW player profiles/rating adjustments, etc. This will probably be the last tournament I take point on getting data into the database for a little while, but will answer questions for whomever ends up in that role. Anyone interested in the crazy hectic world of data entry should contact me (and probably Chris since AHPA owns the site) and I'll start passing along the framework I know and maybe there's something that I've missed from self teaching.
I hope with such a large field of players at the tournament we'll start seeing some challenge matches (in Chicago preferably :) )

I didn't realize beating me was such a noteworthy accomplishment, but I guess I'll take that as a compliment.
Also, consider this fair warning that I'm going to be out for blood the next time we match up. :p

As we get going with data entry, scores may be entered as 7-0s for the tournament...we're aware and can always update/fix it at some point in the future. (doesn't matter for ratings calculations)

THanks Goran for the help with entry. With the exception of the 65/92 spinoff bracket and the play in rounds, the tournament scores are entered and ratings updated. We'll have the rankings list and tournament finishes entered by the end of the week hopefully.
Edit: Players who played in the tournament but did not reach the 5 opponents/20 games mark to be switched to active status will have their status updated once I get the above mentioned tournament finishes entered since it doesnt switch until I enter that information.

Just waiting on the prelim/play in bracket from Tim, Rosen, or anyone that took a picture of it? From what I have gathered there were 14 people in a single elim 2/3 playing for 2 of the spots in the main draw. Once I get those, i can post the full finish list. (there were some no shows to sort through for a final tally, 65th+ finish)
