Today, Colin Cummings overcame a very talented Ramiro Castano, 4 sets to 2, to take the #10 USAA World ranking and become the youngest player in USAA history to hold the USAA title, "Master" at 14 years and 21 days old. Congrats to Colin for his achievement and to Ramiro for his recent successes and to both for being a part of USAA history in the making.

Congratulations to Colin. He really had to regroup after getting blown out in the second set. He came out in the third set with a much more relaxed demeanor and kept telling himself to 'just play airhockey'. It was an exciting match and could have gone either way especially that 3rd and 4th sets. Thanks to Alex for taking on the bulk of the reffing duties. Thanks to Ramiro for accepting the challenge. I know the challenge originally was set right after the Worlds last year, but for one reason or another it couldn't happen.

Colin beats the 20+ year record of the great Wil Upchurch to become the youngest master EVER. Great accomplishment! Especially considering, the field is much deeper and tougher than when Wil finished in the top ten at the age of 15.

Even greater things await you Colin, but in the meantime - they'll be coming for your scalp! Do not despair if you lose a match and end up out of the top 10 - there are a lot of great players below you now. Don't worry - I have a feeling this won't be the last time you attain Masterhood.

What a great accomplisnent!

You took the number 10 world ranking by yourself. On the table. By playing ah. And winning!

Face to face combat with another human being!

Pure and simple.

You conquered.
