Ist - Congratulations to Billy for yet another great performance. Your multiple drifts and setups are so efficient and your endurance is amazing!!! The 2 sets between you and Danny were elite air-hockey and were great to watch.

2nd - A great finish to Danny, even though I am sure he is not satisfied. But still one of the best players with a new mallet and almost no practice.

3rd - A very nice finish to Pete L. Match point either way with Danny the first time you 2 played was one of the most exciting points I have ever seen!!!!

4th - An amazing finish for Colin at 4th!!! You are 13 and already beating top pros and giving masters problems. Cant wait for what is in store for you.

5th - A nice finish for Andrew. Finally putting his game together and looking better and better.

6th - A good finish for Mike C. for claiming your 1st air-hockey trophy. You are also going to be a force to be dealt with in the future.

7th - A good finish for Brian. Thank you to you and your team for putting on another great tournament. Your play always seems to suffer a little when you are running the tourny and you had the bad luck of playing your practice partner (Mike) to advance.

8th - Happy Birthday to Donovan. This is the best I have ever seen you play. You had an amazing Swiss Saturday with wins over Phil 3-1, Evan, Brian 3-2 (after being down 0-2), and Pete (3-2). Thank you also for the great promotions you have for air-hockey.

9th - Another youngster with a great future. Jacob is such a solid player with all the shots and a complete game. As you keep learning from your father and getting experience, you and Colin are going to be the next Billy and Danny.

10th - Peter Cheung, even though you are a quite person off the table, your improvement over the last year is loud and clear. Keep practicing and doing what you are doing because IT IS PAYING OFF.

Thanks to Brian and the entire UNAP team for putting on the HCO. The Swiss format was a blast albeit grueling. I'd also like to thank my practice partners Dan, Goran and most of all Q for helping me prepare.

The finals was exciting and there were lots of good matches, but the standout story of the tournament is the performance of the two young air hockey prodigies: Colin Cummings and Jacob Weissman, who are 13 and 16 years old respectively. Colin had an incredible run through the draw, taking Danny Hynes to match point either way as he finished 4th. Jacob convincingly defeated Travis Luscombe, a master level player, on route to his 9th place showing.

Looking forward to the next UNAP event!

I only recorded a few matches here and there this weekend. As I edit them this week, I will put them in this Vimeo album: https://vimeo.com/album/2240087

It's not like he said....Fantastic, Awesome, Unbelievable or even Very Good.

Brian is also coming off a Broken Collarbone injury injury in the past couple of month that is not totally healed...plus I know Brian's game as well as Q knows Billy's. I gave Brian my best effort and was lucky to pull it off! I beat 4 master's in this tournament, so Good is a proper classification.

Commendations and Congratulations to the Winner Billy Stubbs!

As I said in my introductory speech, we wanted to "knock you down", but the reality is that Mr. Stubbs knocked everyone in Houston down in winning both the Friday night T. of Champions and the Houston City Open Championship.

Another performance for the ages by Billy!
