Once again, the Table is calling any player in Catalonia and abroad to fight for the longest-running air hockey championship outside America.

The day is November 4th, at New Park Baricentro.

There are some confirmed players who are favorite for the Gold, such as Arnau Martín, Jorge Tomás (defending champ.), Sergio López... But we'll have to wait a few weeks to find out who will make his name into the list:

/pre-USAA rules/
1997 Alberto González
1998 Mauro Sturlese
1999 Mauro Sturlese
2000 Alberto González
2001 Rafael Ochoa
2002 Alberto González
/with USAA rules/
2003 Pedro Otero (Spain) / Marc García (Catalan Champion)
2004 Marc García
2005 José Luis Camacho
2006 José Luis Camacho
2007 Marc García
2008 Sergio López
2009 Arnau Martín
2010 Arnau Martín
2011 Jorge Tomás

Mauro- I have found a player on the Canary Islands that's interested in pro air hockey. What is your email so I can have him get in touch with you?

It looks like it will be a small-attendance, familiar tournament and almost zero budget, but however, as of today the list of expected players is:

CONFIRMED (LOCAL):
Jorge Tomas (Champion 2011, Venezuelan born)
Arnau Martin (Champion 2009, 2010)
Sergio Lopez (Champion 2008)
Alberto Gonzalez (Champion 2002, 2000, 1997)
Ruben Martin

CONFIRMED (GUEST):
Jairo Correa (Venezuela)

Unfortunately i'm almost sure to miss playing my first National tournament ever due to an injury, but i'll be there anyway.

So, here's the results from our annual national championship:

1. Jairo Correa (Venezuela)
2. Jorge Tomas (National Champion)
3. Sergio Lopez
4. Arnau Martín
5. Ruben Martin (National Amateur Champion)
6. Alberto Gonzalez
7. Victor Balague
8. Manel López
9. Víctor Martín

Just like in 2003 when Pedro Otero came, the Venezuelan guest takes the Gold ;)

Congrats to Jairo, Jorge, and Sergio!

Mauro, good job organizing the tournament even though you couldn't play. Get well soon.

Thank you Billy! I'm trying my best and with some help from Jorge, Arnau and the other guys we'll try to make Air Hockey Catalunya big as it used to be.

As for my injury, i hope to be able to compete again at the next event, which is likely to be before the end of this year, and with another international guest... more details soon ;)

Once again, Great job Mauro!

Congrats to Jairo on winning it.

Keep spreading the word of this beautiful game! I look forward to the day when we can get many different countries competing in a championship tournament.
