Hey guys can anyone please tell me how I can improve my defense when I don't have anyone here in Ohio with the skill level of a pro? Thanks

Dave, I wish I had some advice to give you.

I think the best you can do is train someone to beat you - and try to emulate someone else's shots... and then train someone else. It really takes a community of different looks and shots and strategies to develop an elite defense in my opinion.

Otherwise, if you're playing someone who may not be as good - you just have to really get on your case about reading shots. Did you move when that cut came? Did you pull back correctly for that under/over? I dunno.. I think it's tough to defend someone you've never seen before...
