I guess with only 4 days left to go, everyone must be busy concentrating on their game instead of dishing out the usual insults and personal attacks. :p I hate to admit it because I think people can easily cross the line and have things get ugly in real life, but AC is right - rivalries definitely make things more interesting around here.

Personally, I'm looking forward to facing whoever dares to show up on the other side of the table this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday!

Hey DON! Don James! If you're out there and can read this, Joe and AC don't know how to handle all this peace and quiet and are just festering for some abuse! Have at, they're basically asking for it. :)

On a serious note, Joe is right about rivalries. They do make things way more interesting in the sport. One of my all time favorite was Wil Upchurch and Tim Weissman. I only got to witness them go at it once, in Chicago in 2007, and they did not disapoint. After Tim having Wil down 6-5 match point, Wil managed to eeek the last two points out in that 7th game to win.

Some other great rivalries:

Tim vs. Jose, Ehab vs. Tim, Danny vs. Jose, Wil vs. Pedro O., Davis vs. Ehab, Ehab vs. Wil, Danny vs. Anthony, Billy vs. Danny, Davis vs. Fletcher, Accrocco vs. Fletcher, Jimmy H. vs. Ehab, Phil Arnold vs. Mark Robbins, Mark Nizzi vs. Niki Flanagan. :)~

Honorable mentions: August Para vs. Syed, Goran vs. Q., Mike Thomas vs. Nick Geoffroy, Chris Lee vs. Randal Leistikow, Joe Cain vs. Phil Arnold, Andrew Flanagan vs. James Britton, Donovan Brown vs. Randy Lind. ;)

Long live the rivalries!

A few rivalries to add to the list (some friendly, some not):

Nizzi Nizzi vs. Keith Fletcher
Mark Robbins vs. Vince Shappell
Brian Accrocco vs. Anthony Marino
Billy Stubbs vs. Davis Lee

And we have to include:

Ehab Shoukry vs. Danny Hynes - has anyone played against each other in more finals? It's a friendly rivalry, but probably the biggest in Air Hockey

I'd throw me v. Nizzi in there as a friendly rivalry. They were all three fairly close matches... wouldn't you say, Niz?

Yes, All our matches were close travis. And they were friendly until a certain cheerleader of yours started distracting me. ;)

And Nizzi vs. Fletcher has always been friendly too. :)

I recall that feeling of the opposing cheerleader ... I was playing james voltz in a Chicago state in 2003, and his wife kept saying "come on james" or something to that effect and it helped motivate me. I finally thanked her politely, but he still got the win. lol ...
