2012 UNAP AIR HOCKEY WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES
HOUSTON, TEXAS
JULY 26 - 29

Players -

The deadline for early registration is quickly approaching. Please notice the fee structures are a little different for this year's events. The best pricing is available only until May 31. After that, the prices will go up. Unfortunately, no exceptions can be made. So go to http://www.AirHockeyWorldEvents.com and get signed up today!

The Goalgrinder 500 point spot event on Thursday night will be the first of it's kind in a World Championship series. There will be a minimum prize of $500 for the first place finisher in this point spot event. There is a solid cap of 64 players for the Goalgrinder 500. If you want a chance at the cash and the first ever Goalgrinder 500 Championship Title, sign up now!

Anyone can play in this event and anyone can win in the Goalgrinder 500. The format will be similar to our weekly Houston events. We have had 12 different first place finishers in our weekly point spot events already this year. In 2011, we had a whopping 25 different first place finishers in the 52 weekly events! We are not exaggerating... ANYONE CAN WIN and there's BIG MONEY on the line!

Sign up today at http://www.AirHockeyWorldEvents.com

If you need help getting signed up, please contact Travis Luscombe (admin@airhockeyworld.com) or Brian Accrocco (airhockeygod@att.net) for assitance. Thanks!

500 REASONS TO REGISTER RIGHT NOW!

You can also register online for the first ever Goalgrinder 500 "Point Spot" Air Hockey Event that will kick off the World Championship Series on Thursday July 26. This event will be similar to our weekly tournaments where the playing field is leveled with the point spot system.

What is the "point spot" system?

Every player is assessed a skill level from 0 to 6. New players start as a level 0 or 1 depending on their relative skills on the table. The highest master level players have a skill level of 6. At the start of each game, the difference in skill levels is given to the lower skilled player. So, if a level 4 plays a match against a level 1, each game will start at 3-0 in favor of the level 1 player. The maximum allowable point spot is 5 points. Each game of Air Hockey is a race to 7 points. In the Goalgrinder 500, each match will be the best of 3 games. As you can imagine, a level 0 playing a level 5 or 6 is pretty intense! Each game starts a 5-0 in favor of the level 0!

Players can choose to waive their point spot... but that's just plain crazy with $500 on the line.

The point spot system levels the playing field so anyone can be a champion. The competition is still very fierce... even more fierce because there are no blowouts! Everyone has a chance to take down veteran legends like World Champion Daniel Hynes (TX) or current #1 ranked and #1 rated player in the world, Billy Stubbs (IL).

In 2011, the Houston weekly "point spot" tournaments had 25 unique first place finishers out of 52 weekly tournaments using this system. So far in 2012, we have 12 unique weekly champions. The system definitely levels the playing field so anyone can win! Anyone can play and anyone can win in this awesome new World Championship event!

First place will be guaranteed a minimum of $500 CASH and become the first ever Goalgrinder 500 Champion!

The entry fee for the Goalgrinder 500 is $20 per player. There are no comps and no freebies. Everyone who plays will pay the entry fee. At the end of the night, someone will be the Goalgrinder champion!

As the playing field is level in this unique event, random seeding will be used immediately before the event.

If you go to the registration page at airhockeyworldevents.com you can see all the registrants for all events. They have just over 80 registered for singles I believe with 75 paid.

47 players have signed up for doubles:

If Pedro and Javier play as a team, I'd predict them to make a run at the finals.
