Welcome to the GoalGrinder 500 Challenge. This spectacular event may well prove to be the largest "point spot" Airhockey tournament ever held.
We level the playing field so anyone can win! This event will be played in the same style as a weekly point spot tournament. All players are assigned a skill classification from 0 to 6. New players are typically classified as a level 0 or 1 depending on their initial skill assessment. A level 6 is a highly experienced top master level player. The majority of our player base falls somewhere in between. Player's earn skill level promotions throughout the year as they show progress on the table.

The tournament event uses a double elimination bracket with a maximum of 64 players. Every player must lose two matches be eliminated. A single game of Air Hockey is a race to 7 points. A match in the Goalgrinder 500 will consist of the best 2 games out of 3.
The point spot system is used in each matchup to give every player a fair chance at winning. The point spot allowance is determined by the difference in skill levels. So, if a level 4 player faces off against a level 2 player, each game in the match will begin 2-0 in favor of the level 2 player. Keep in mind, the maximum point spot allowance in this event is 5. So if a level 6 plays a level 0 or 1, the point spot allowance is 5 and each game starts at 5 to 0 in a race to 7!
The Goalgrinder 500 promises to be the most exciting event ever to be held in an Air Hockey World Championship series of events! It will be fast paced and fun. At the end of the night, someone will walk away with at least $500 cash. Nobody knows who that player will be!
