At the IL State we will have 3 air hockey tables, and one of them should be Mark Robbins' new table by Gold Standard Games. It will be a historic event as it will be the first time that major tournament matches are played on Gold Standard!
Also we will be seeding the tournament and determining entry fees based on player ratings.
If you plan to attend, please post in this thread. I hope to see you there.

I'll be returning to Chicago late that Friday night. We expect to have the Gold Standard Games prototype installed at BZ in Naperville within a week or so from now. By the tournament it should be well broken in. Meanwhile, Chicago-area players will be the first ones to be able to play on the new table in a public location. All feedback is welcome.

They kind of bounce around these days. I just got back from playing with a couple IL guys tonight. In general, we always play downtown Chicago (UIC student center) on Wednesday nights - but we sometimes go out to Goran's luxurious mansion in Wheaton. PM me - if you're interested in coming out sometime, we'll figure out a night that works.

My plan had been to make it in 2012. However a strenous game of racquetball left me with "tennis elbow". The three month healing time will allow me to work out at 24 Hr. Fitness and strengthen the back and get in shape.
I encourage all players to consider competing in the Illinois event. Why pass up a chance to get a crack at the Number One player in our sport and the players he is influencing to become even greater?

There's a Red Roof Inn on Hwy. 59 a few miles from the tournament.
