I miss playing our weekly tournaments. Its probably unlikely we can find a day (and a good location) in which most of us Colorado players can get together regularly right now.
However, what about an after Thanksgiving tournament like 7 or 8pm on that Thursday. I'd like to have a real tournament at my place and then some not so serious doubles or whatever after. Is this something that interests you? Mike Thomas

Randal and I have been talking about trying to get something regular going again. We were thinking at the broomfield rec center. I can't do every week, but maybe every other week.

Nick, Randal, and everyone else interested; maybe we can get a regular: bi-monthly , or monthly tournament going soon. I think a monthly right now would be best. The optimal day would be collectively picked and every current Colorado player would make it there, hopefully.
As far as the after Thanksgiving tournament, Nick suggested Friday would be better. I feel he's right and I would like to make that happen. What say you? Mike Thomas

A tournament the day after Thanksgiving would be fun, and I'd definitely be up for using that to kick off regular monthly tournaments on whatever night works best for everyone.

The Paul Derda Rec Center in Broomfield is a decent place to play. They have two blue tops, one of which is in good shape, and the other which is playable (the hole on the surface a few inches from one goal doesn't much interfere with play, so long as you don't mind a little extra breeze hitting you from time to time). Admission is $6 and then tables are free, and if you buy a swipe card with 20 at a time, the price falls to about $3.50. Downsides are that they close at 10pm on weekdays, so we'd have to start at 7 or something, and there is no bar/restaurant.

Anyone know of a better place with more than one table? Last we checked, the tables at Fat Cats were set to $1 per game, which adds up. Since they're open later and serve drinks and (bad) food, that would be a good place to go again, if we could work out some kind of deal with the management. It seemed before that they weren't interested in that, but I'd be happy to call them if any of you think that location would be better than the Broomfield rec center.

I wouldn't mind playing once in a while at Fat Cats. I really don't have the time to play a long tournament every week right now anyway. I'm free to play for an hour or two in the evening Mon's and Fri's, and play Phil Bitter a lot of those days at my place. I'd like a few more people to come play on those days (Monday's would be best), maybe we could turn that into a 2 out of 3 tournament. Mike Thomas
