I recently started a blog to post my stories. The first one I posted is about Air Hockey, and a strange match against a well-known individual.

Jacob,
AWESOME! Unbelievable! FANTASTIC!
For some reason the story really made me miss Mike Barry, I know this would have been the kind of thing he loved!
I do have one observation:
SPOLIER ALERT:
The devil :
-tons of double banks -serves -turkey shots -a seemingly endless attempt to "stuff" on defense and... -"a black haired comb-Over" ?!?!?!?!
I Love Phil Arnold, this is just not right

Opps, sorry Phil! I meant to give the Devil a somewhat similar style to your's, you know a wild game, but I didn't mean for him to even look like you! I just figured that the Devil would only, in human form, have black hair. The black-haired comb over however was just meant to give the Devil that a sharp edge, which I felt built on his insidious nature in a way. Sorry again Phil! Everyone knows that you are the furthest thing from the Devil!
And thanks for the feedback Don! Glad you liked it! (and glad you pointed out the issue with Phil's seeming similarities to the Devil's character)

Jacob, great story, and very well written about you and the Devil having some good battle of the puck. Here is a little something on the flip side i wrote a while back, maybe you might find it interesting.....
-Mallets on the Table- (Parody of Foot Prints in the Sand) One night an Airhockey player had a dream. He dreamed he was standing at an Airhockey table with God. Great moments and scenes from his puck life flashed across that table and he noticed two mallets upon its surface on the side he was at, one belonging to him, and the other to the Lord. When the last scene of his puck life had flashed before him, he recalled that at the lowest and saddest times of his life there was only one mallet upon his side.
Dismayed, he asked, "Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you, you'd be with me all the way. I don't understand why, when I needed you most, you would leave me."
The Lord replied, "My precious child. I love you and I would never leave you. During your times of trial and suffering on the Airhockey table, when you saw only one mallet on your side, That was when I was on the other end, playing you." :)

I like it Mark. Not only is it a great parody of the original poem, but it helps relate that sense of majesty I believe we all feel in Air Hockey. I know at least when I am feeling "down" playing Air Hockey seems to always have a calming effect, as if God himself stood right beside me. (or across the table) (:
This sharing of stories reminds of the many Table Talks I have read from the early-mid 90's. It seems like there was always some grand Air Hockey related poem or story held within their pages. What happened!

Well... there just aren't that many people writing! I've neglected my blog for too long (Q and I have been working on other air hockey related projects). But keep posting to your blog. One of the joys of having a blog live for a couple years is going back to the old things that I've written and seeing how it progresses. People will post old articles up here on ahw all the time, and it is always valuable information. Keep at it - someone may need a story or article just like what you've posted for an updated Table Talk.
