Syed nails me to the cross

Syed vs Pete
Well what can I say, I have a million excuses but Syed played a really smart game and concentrated on what I need to work on, the damn cross straight. I even told myself going into that match to shut that crap down, but I did not and lost hard because of it.
A little back story for my excuses it was my birthday weekend and I wanted to keep my number 5ness until after so I planned the match on Sunday thinking I would be in decent healthy to take on Syed. Well I was poorly planned and was super sick the night before the match. My fever broke around 3 am the morning before and I was in a bad frame of mind to go into play as I was late to the match. But all that aside I had a game plan that seemed solid at the time but hindsight is a b$&@$.
I wanted Syed to shut down, which is not entirely the hardest thing to do if you get the jump on him, which I did not. I came in way too over confident in this match and got abused for it. I got Syed to the "don't give a crap I'm not moving" state only once in the match which was in the 3rd set when he 4-0'd me. I was über confident going into set 4 and started in on a more aggressive game, but he was waiting for me at what seemed every turn of my aggressive game and he was not falling into the state he portrayed in set 3.
So this is a life lesson on the losing side. Take a step back and remember there are 5 ways to lose in any type of match.
TAOW (the art of war)
1 Recklessness, which leads to destruction;
2 cowardice, which leads to capture;
3 a hasty temper, which can be provoked by insults;
4 a delicacy of honor which is sensitive to shame;
5 over-solicitude for his men, which exposes him to worry and trouble.

I'm going with mostly number 1 on my defeat, but I know I fall into 3 and 4 as well. Eventually I'll get another shot at Syed but my sites are now set on Ehab. While Brian is taking on Syed in a match soon. Good luck to both players it will be an interesting match I'm certain.
