|What does it take to be a math major? Are they just really good at it and then take a deep liking to it? I understand the concept of the ELO rating system, and have seen it in action when playing chess, but when I looked at it's defintion....my mind just didn't like all the brackets and equations. I started having flashbacks of struggling thru Algebra, then Trig, then Calculus, yikes, I didn't like it. Geometry was the only thing that wasn't so bad, I even asked my HOT geometry teacher about some AH angles. Wow, she was such a hot MILF. Ok, back to the Mitic ratings.
I'm a little confused about where we stand on challenge matches, first it was counting all the sets and games, then it wasn't counting games, now I don't know if it's sets any more. Oh well, no one challenges me anyway. I believe the Mitic Ratings are good for AH, it's our only chance at comparing players across a broad spectrum. And, if players buy in and want to keep their rating current, it encourages active play. It helps include our brethren in Spain and Russia, and who knows where else it will spread to.
I want to be number 1 in the Mitic Ratings, but I would like to earn it by knocking off Wil in this next tournament. Unfortunately, we'd most likely both have to make it to the Winner's finals to play each other. I think he will have a clear path, but we'll see how the draw plays out.
