Illinois State/WSOP

AH community has been quiet lately, almost as quiet as the "shhh" finals in 2003. Been debate lately on how much yelling is too much. The way I see it, one of the few things AH has going for it, are the unique personalities. There's always a fine line, but I think most participants would like to err on the side of letting the emotions rip. Much more entertaining, inspirational, better for audiences - drawbacks are if in family oriented environment, not good, and if over the top, could be construed as a form of intimidation instead of as a way of firing yourself up. Here are the most animated players in the sport: Jose, Wil, Keith, Robbins, Phil, Joe, that's all I can think of right now. I can get pretty loud over a close match as well.

Thinking of attending the IL state in late June. It would give me a reason to get back into playing shape. I usually play basketball and softball each week to stay in shape, but took about a month off to let my knee recover from a strain/sprain. I'm probably 10-15 pounds overweight since Nationals, been busy with work and had a bad diet. Another reason to attend would be to play Wil. I have confidence that I could beat him right now, even though statiscal evidence would say otherwise. When Billy is playing well, he is tough, Goran's fun to play, and Robbins is good for an 80 year old. Reasons I shouldn't attend are economical - I'm not at a point where I'm interested in losing money by attending an event anymore, been there and done that the past 6 years. Other reasons include not really having to prove myself against Wil, I know I can beat him, so I'll just prove it at the next big tourney. Not that big a field, won the event already last year, and being away from work and home too long. I'm planning on going to the WSOP in mid-June and early July, so if I were to attend the IL state, I'd be traveling for basically a month. Now if some other big names announce that they will attend, I'd probably consider it again. I wouldn't count myself out for a last minute appearance though. My ego might want to continue my streak.
