I have an Idea. How about, after each tournament, each player that participates in the tournament gets their picture taken while in match play and then this photo to update each year. Most people's pictures are older than the website itself.

So, basically, every tournament, each player gets their picture taken while playing in a match, and this photo replaces the players current picture on air hockey world. Players should update their pictures so it shows their face from the most recent tournament that he/she attended, so the picture of each player on air hockey world is from the last tournament each player attended(State/National tournaments).

By the way, if a player does not have a ranking, is possible for the player to re-earn a ranking by winning a challenge match against a ranked player? -Ben

I would just get pictures at registration. As the tournament goes on it gets harder and harder to find time to take pictures and to keep track of the pictures you have.

If you win a match against a ranked player you get their rank whether you have a rank or not so the answer to your question would be yes. This happens often because often people miss a tournament and then they no longer have a rank. Typically they end up challenging another player to regain a rank.

At last years Worlds in Houston, UNAP hired a photographer...Justin Flores and he got pictures of all the players in action. We posted proofs on AHWorld and he made them available for purchase. I know there were shots of you and your brother Ben. As far as pictures in AHWorld, that is Travis Luscombe 's domain.

What? You mean me and Phil and Stucky have to use pictures from 2013 instead of 1987? Unthinkable!

1987!? You afraid to to show your old face?! Phil updated his picture from the last tournament he played in, which was the Houston City Open, and that is a step in the right direction.
Congrats ,Phil!

Anyway, it's better that we update our air hockey world photo after every tournament we play in because we need to be and remain current. So, at the time of the Chicago nationals, all the players get their picture taken and then these pictures are updated within a week or two.

The world of air hockey needs more players, more activity, as a whole, so we push our value up and air hockey will grow as a REAL sport, not just a bunch of guys chatting on a forum.

I think at all the player bases, the players should develop organized play, such as league play like what Bill did in the late 80's and early 90's. And then airhockeyworld.com should be more active and posting results and often, with flyers for each of the play locations, and what events go on there.

Lastly, there has to be more exposure to professional air hockey through the internet. People need to know we exist. Important stuff, guys! -Ben
